Writing When You Don’t Feel Like It
How To Keep Going Without Burning Out
As writers, we have times when you can’t pry us away from our keyboards or journals. The ideas are flowing, and we don’t want to stop. It is a high that non-writers cannot understand.
Then, we have times when writing is the last thing we want to do. And we procrastinate those days away.
But we still gotta write.
Why We Don’t Want to Write
There are a few primary reasons writing feels impossible some days:
No Inspiration
Our creative wells can dry up, making finding ideas like trying to find a needle in a barn full of haystacks without a magnet.
Feeling Unwell
Our brains tend not to work when we’re sick or in a lot of pain. Which is understandable.
Burnout
When we push ourselves to the point of complete mental (and sometimes physical) exhaustion.
