As writers, we occasionally get stuck, whether starting or continuing a story. Sometimes, we need external aid to help us overcome our writer’s block.

That’s where writing prompts can come to the rescue.

What are Writing Prompts?

While every writer should know, for those who don’t, writing prompts are words, sentences, or scenarios meant to help jog a writer’s creativity when they’re feeling stuck.

They can also be used for exercises to strengthen and deepen one’s writing.

Where to Find Prompts

Between libraries, bookstores, and the internet, we have an infinite number of resources to turn to, including:

Pinterest

Pinterest is a treasure trove for writers, and it’s in no short supply of writing prompts.

Just type in “Writing prompts” into the search bar, and they’ll show.

Apps

With all the writing apps that keep popping up, I’m sure there are at least a few dedicated to prompts.
