When you’re an online writer, you’re always looking for ways to promote your socials/newsletters to gain more readers, or even earn income from products you sell or earn commission from.

A great way to promote those is by adding links in your writing. However, you need to know the link types and how to add them.

There are a few types of online links you can include in your content:

Social

This one would be for your social media profiles, such as Facebook, Instagram, X, etc. These can be found in posts or writer bios.

Products

This could be relevant to your products if you have a merchandise shop or a physical product business, or if you use affiliate links, which is a commission-based method of earning money from products you use and recommend.

Platform

Like your website or newsletter, which could be through Substack or another email platform.

How to Place Them
