April 2024.

It was around my birthday. I wanted my hair to be one color so it would look good, and it was about the time for me to do it, so I bleached it.

The last time I bleached my hair.

My hair dyeing started in sixth grade, and it was magenta streaks. Then, it really took off when I started dancing in eighth grade. And it continued through college and covid.

I even wrote a piece about it.

However, when I moved, I left all my hair dye and bleach supplies behind, not replacing them.

I Haven’t Touched it Since

Now, we’re in April 2025

It’s crazy to me that I’ve gone all this time without feeling much of an urge to mess with it outside a few weeks ago when I wanted to dye it dark to make my hair the same color while the bleached parts grew out.

For so long, I attributed much of my identity to my funky hair colors. But my roommate made me…
