Growing pains.

We’re all familiar with the aches in our bones and muscles as our bodies rush to be taller and stronger.

But what about the mental and emotional stretching and growing we endure as we evolve to become better, fully functional people?

Well, it sucks, and those are the type of growing pains I’m going through right now.

It Usually Happens From 16–22

While we continuously evolve throughout our whole life, emotional and mental maturity typically starts at around 16. Maybe sooner for some people.

And most of us are grown by 22.

Me, not so much.

I’m Not as Mature as I Thought

I’ve always had something called Social Delay, meaning my mental maturity is behind my technical age by at least a year compared to my peers.

So, it’s something I’ve struggled with for years.

But living away from my parents and seeing more of adult life made me realize my mental and emotional maturity is more like a teen’s.

And I’m 25.
