As writers, we like having the right vibe before sitting at our desks and researching ideas, typing drafts, or self-editing completed manuscripts.

And we do many things inside to create that vibe, such as lighting candles, putting chill music on in the background, or turning on the fairy lights hanging from our walls.

But sometimes, that vibe comes to us in the form of weather, have it be cloudy, stormy, or sunny.

What writer doesn’t see gray skies and rain while holding a cup of coffee or tea before sitting down to write?

As a native Northwest Washingtonian, it’s exactly the weather I grew up with for the majority of the year, giving it the perfect cozy writing vibe.

Since it’s winter, though, I have been experiencing dismal weather days here, which I have been soaking in. Probably one of five people in Texas who enjoys cool weather.
