Do I Like Women?
And Has This Always Been The Case?
Sexuality.
It can be a complicated aspect of our younger lives as we figure ourselves, especially for women/females, as it’s often less black and white with us.
But for a long time, I thought I had my sexuality figured out. Until recently. Now, I’ve realized that’s not totally the case.
I Thought I Only Liked Men For a Long Time
While I was raised to appreciate the beauty of both men and women, for years, I convinced myself I wasn’t attracted to women.
Primarily because I was in Girl Scouts for a long time and thought I had no girl crushes. In fact, a few of the leaders I encountered made me glad I liked men.
I also never felt attracted to any of the girls I went to school or danced with. And there were a lot more girls than boys in both settings.
I just thought if I wasn’t attracted to any of those girls, I wasn’t attracted to any girl. Which for the most part, I’d accepted, although, in my singleness, I thought about how I’d have more options if I swung both ways.
