Authenticity.

What is it? How do you feel about it? And how can we be authentic in our writing?

What is Authenticity?

To give you the most accurate definition:

Authenticity refers to acting in accordance with one’s true self. It means behaving congruently with one’s values, beliefs, motives, and personality dispositions. When you are authentic, you remain true to what is important to you, even in the face of external pressures and expectations.

Sounds simple enough.

But it is one of the most difficult things to do.

Authenticity is paramount when you’re aiming to connect with your readers and create a community.

So, these are the most important things to remember:

Be Honest

Now, I’m not saying you have to share every single opinion or thing about your life. We all need some privacy, after all.
